Dr.Shakil Jehangir Malik is Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at University of Sussex UK, Director Rural Psychiatric Services and Founding Chairman of the Centre for Profound Education Pakistan. He has been honoured with Consultant Emeritus status by the National Health Services, UK. On March 4, 2022, the Wasil Trust Rural Psychiatry Clinic was inaugurated by senior members of the trust. There was a dire need for treatment of growing psychiatric issues (especially in ladies) in surrounding rural areas which was identified by our consultants. Psychiatric issues grow into disaster at the family level if not treated right and in time. After intense meetings and brainstorming, Professor Shakeel Malik provided the complete package of psychiatric services along with his team. Alhamdollilah within two weeks, 40 patients with chronic psychiatric issues were identified and  treated. Prof. Dr. Shakil Malik  brings his own medications to ensure the highest quality of care and personally examines over 100 patients during each clinic session. His dedication and expertise have made him a pillar in the community, providing much-needed psychiatric care to those in need.
